This is the time of year we naturally reflect on Conecta Arizona’s stories that had the biggest impact — on our readers, Arizona and Sonora, and our democracy — over the past 12 months. The direct support of readers made this reporting possible, so here are some of the highlights:

• The production of the second season of our podcast Cruzando Líneas, coming soon in January.

• Election coverage of Mexico, Venezuela and the United States, with guides and unfiltered, honest testimonies from our community.

• Reaching further out to rural communities and the start of our expansion to south Arizona.

• And the opening of our first news bureau outside of Arizona, and in none other than Sonora, Mexico!
